Overview
Muslim Relief was established in 1989 after Seeing the rapidly deteriorating state of affairs by Afghan Civil War. A small group of volunteers began collecting money, clothes and medicine for the people of Afghanistan.
Muslim Relief, an international relief and development Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), independent of any political or religious agenda, grew from this grass roots movement and since these first efforts, we have responded to countless disasters and emergencies.
Muslim Relief provides for refugees, emergency relief and promotes sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities as well as establishing long term projects such as schools, healthcare clinics and livelihood programmes worldwide – regardless of race, religion or gender.
Vision and Values
Our Facilities are located in over 40 countries and we are working in over 60 cities worldwide. By working closely with our partners and offices on the ground, we are able to distribute aid in an effective, efficient, transparent and wholly accountable manner and to make a lasting difference to the communities we work with.
Medical care... educational and vocational programs... drug abuse treatment and prevention... legal aid... recreational programs... mother/child services... transitional housing... life-skills training and street outreach, whatever the need, we are there to help.
Dedicated to tackling the root causes of poverty around the world, Muslim Relief is passionate about working beyond the provision of immediate relief, towards supporting communities over the long-term.
